Farmers’ Markets that DOUBLE SNAP Benefits

CT Fresh Match

End Hunger CT!’s Connecticut Fresh Match Program allows SNAP recipients to double the fruits and vegetables they purchase at participating farmers’ markets across the State. When SNAP recipients shop at participating farmers’ markets, Connecticut Fresh Match doubles SNAP, allowing households to stretch their benefits, incorporate more fresh produce into their diets, and support local farmers. Markets match SNAP with tokens or coupons to be spent on fruits and vegetables. Matched benefits can be spent that day or can be saved for a future market purchase at many participating locations.

STRETCH YOUR FOOD DOLLARS WITH SNAP

When shoppers spend SNAP/EBT at participating markets, we allow markets to increase their customers’ purchasing power. Stretching is a SNAP! Here’s how it works:

  • When at a participating market, visit the market manager at a booth selling fruits and/or vegetables.

  • Swipe your SNAP/EBT card to make a purchase and the market manager will give you tokens/coupons worth up to double the value charged to your card. For example, swipe your card to purchase $10, and you will get $20 worth of tokens/coupons.

  • Shop for DOUBLE the fresh fruits and vegetables for your household! Use your extra match dollars on the day you receive them or save them for a future market purchase at many participating locations.

FOR MARKETS

Do you manage a farmers’ market and want to be able to double SNAP for your customers? Or are you a market that currently doubles SNAP and wants to join the CT Fresh Match network? It’s simple: CT Fresh Match is a reimbursement program, so you log your sales, and we’ll reimburse your incentive match through the program.
