Connecticut Alliance For Basic Human Needs (CABHN)
The Connecticut Alliance for Basic Human Needs (CABHN) is a statewide network of more than 3,000 members, including social service providers, advocates, religious leaders, and individuals concerned about issues affecting lower-income families and communities throughout Connecticut. The CABHN network represents a diverse range of experience, expertise, interests, and access to resources. Members share a common goal of improving services to low-income residents, strengthening our public benefits programs, and increasing support to families to help them transition out of poverty and become self-sufficient and economically secure. We encourage the sharing of information and strategies to help advocates maximize their energy and resources.
MONTHLY MEETINGS
CABHN meets on the first Friday of every month to share resources, access cutting edge information, strengthen advocacy initiatives, amplify our collective voices, and engage new perspectives. Meetings are typically held from 9:30AM – 11AM and open to the public. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Due to the sudden impacts of COVID-19, CABHN meetings have been temporarily suspended. For more information about current plans and operations for CABHN, please email us. We appreciate your patience as we determine the best way to move this program forward and best serve Connecticut residents!
CABHN was formed in 1992 to support and promote advocacy on welfare-related issues, and was sponsored by the Legal Assistance Resource Center of Connecticut (LARCC), which is part of the Connecticut Network for Legal Aid. In 2018, CABHN became a program of End Hunger Connecticut!.
