It Takes More Than Books for a Child to Learn

The School Breakfast Program (SBP) is a federally funded program administered by the USDA Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The program is administered by state agencies, which operate the SBP through agreements with local school food authorities. The SBP operates in public and nonprofit private schools and residential childcare institutions. The program provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free breakfasts to all children to ensure learning readiness and promote healthy eating behaviors.

School districts use several breakfast delivery methods (or a combination of them) depending on what best suits their students, including: Grab n’ Go, Breakfast in the Classroom, Breakfast After 1st Period/Second Chance Breakfast; and Breakfast Vending.
